Microsoft kicked off this month’s (September 2018) Patch Tuesday cycle for all supported devices that include for Windows 10 October 2018 update (Version 1809 – KB4464330) Windows 10 April 2018 Update(Version 1803 – KB4462919), Fall Creators Update (Version 1709 – KB4462918), Final update for Windows 10 Creators Update (Version 1703 – KB4462937)Home and pro users, Anniversary Update (Version 1607 – KB4462917), and the November Update (Version 1507 – KB4462922)

Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 10 cumulative updates today for all the supported versions of the desktop operating system. And these updates also contain both security and non-security improvements so users will be recommended to install them as soon as possible. Additionally, Microsoft will also ship security updates for Windows 7 and 8.1, and vulnerabilities would be resolved in other products too, including Microsoft Office.

KB4464330 (OS Build 17763.55) For Windows 10 October 2018 update

Today part of patch Tuesday, Microsoft latest feature update to Windows 10, know as October 2018 update version 1809 receives its first cumulative update KB4464330 that bumps OS to windows 10 Build 17763.55, Where Microsoft try to fix the serious data deletion issue reported by users after install October 2018 update.

  • Addresses an issue affecting group policy expiration where an incorrect timing calculation may prematurely remove profiles on devices subject to the “Delete user profiles older than a specified number of day.”

As due to file deletion issue, Microsoft currently pushed October 2018 update rollout, Windows 10 April 2018 update is the most used build, that receives cumulative update KB4462919 and changes the OS to windows 10 build 17134.345. If you’re already running the Windows 10 version 1803 on your PC, this update will address these issues:

  • Security updates to Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Peripherals, Windows Shell, Windows Kernel, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and File Systems, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Linux, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

KB4462918 (OS Build 16299.726) Windows 10 fall creators update

Devices still running Windows 10 fall creators update version 1709, receive KB4462918 (OS Build 16299.726) and Just like the patch for Windows 10 April 2018 Update, Build 16299.726 for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update also addresses security issues.

  • Security updates to Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Shell, Windows Kernel, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Microsoft Scripting Engine, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

The Creators Update (version 1703) is getting update KB4462937 (OS Build 15063.1387)”. If you’re already running version 1703 on your PC, this update will address these problems:

  • Security updates to Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Graphics Component, Microsoft Edge, Windows Kernel, Windows Storage and Filesystems, and Microsoft Scripting Engine.

Windows 10, version 1607 also receive KB4462917 (OS Build 14393.2551) with Security updates to Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Graphics Component, Microsoft Edge, Windows Kernel, Windows Datacenter Networking, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Microsoft JET Database Engine, and Windows Storage and Filesystems.
As usual, Microsoft will download the new patches automatically.

KB4462923 & KB4462926 for Windows 7 and 8.1

Along with Windows 10 cumulative updates Microsoft has also released a new patch KB4462923 & KB4462926 for Windows 7 and 8.1 Both coming with the same changelog That includes “security updates to Windows Media Player, Windows Graphics, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Kernel, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.”

Windows 7 monthly rollup comes with a known issue, as Microsoft explains that in some cases, the network interface controller may stop working. In other words, you could lose network connectivity, and the software giant claims the culprit is an issue related to a missing file called OEM.inf.

You can install them manually by downloading the package from the Microsoft Update Catalog website.
